Was it this whole camp ended up with a massive slip over it ?

Lyfes A Ryott yep. museum was rebuilt but a slip went through there a couple of years ago

Marcanui Taura really sad, I stayed at the camp, the new museum was excellent and the hosts great. Was gutted when I went back and it was covered

its a great spot. it would need a lot of work and money to make it useable again. the slip before that missed the camp but blocked the road leading to it, thats the nature of the area

Loved that Place. Always worth a stop off and had some great memorabilia.

We visited there in 1979, we flew to Christchurch hired a campavan and travelled around Aotearoa. Our kids loved visiting the museum and I think it was Mr Gunn put fuel in our Campa, it was during the fuel rationing but tourists could access it.

Murray Gunn had a horse which he grazed along the road. Those were the days of spotlighting hunters, so to protect the horse he wrote in big letters on one side, HORSE. He had COW on the other side.
