Alison Hale nobody lived in the hospital then. NZFS, thanks to Clint Eves foresight, had restored it when it was razed.

Arthur Bass thankyou I just couldn't remember the sequence of events . Bill used to shoe a horse for a family that lived in there for a while. Hippies we called them at the time. Alternative lifestylers now i guess.

my father lived in the old hospital up waiuta before it burnt down...with a bunch of friends or "hippies" lol he still has some photos of time living there...assume Jeff Jones who contributed this photo was one of dad's mates
