The photo was taken in Wellington. The bus is a White Model 53 with body by my grandfather at Crawley Ridley & Co Ltd of Taranaki Street. It was operated by the Bell Bus Company who ran extensive scenic tours of Wellington City and the surrounding area as well as suburban services from Wellington to Ngaio and Khandallah.

Des Kennedy Could well be, the Bell Bus local tour itinerary map for 1929 has Mount Victoria on the route. The bus was BBC No 11, built in 1928 and BBC were taken over by NZR Road Services on July 1st 1936 so that gives a span of time for the photo.
