Kate MacRae indeed she was Kate.
Your great grandmother and her sister were the reason Emily came out to NZ to No Town as her father had died and then her mother died when she was 16.
So those two sisters sent for her to come out to NZ.
She left Cornwall at 18.
Four and a half months on the boat to Lyttelton, walked the bridal path, Coach to Greymouth, Barge to Kamaka, horse ride to No Town.
What a pioneer she was, amazing lady.
