Very similar style to our parents’ wedding in 1938.

Sydney Tasker Kennedy, Inspector of Coal Mines in Buller for many years. He attended the Mangarakau mine on 17th January 1958 following an explosion that had killed four men. He led a team of Proto-trained men (trained in the use of self-contained breathing apparatus) to recovery the victims from the mine and ultimately to recover the mine.
