A great grandson rang me excitedly to say he had found a big piece of greenstone on a beach in Auckland...he was so happy...turns out it was a piece of green glass worn edges courtesy of the sea. I tried to explain that there is no greenstone found in Auckland...only on the West Coast of the south island..then I got asked why not.? Have no answers as yet for him...but will keep researching.
