In the mid 60's - when there was a major rugby test match on at Lancaster Park - the Fiat railcar did not have the capacity to meet the demand - so two steam engines plus numerous carriages were brought into service to take supporters to and from ChCh on that weekend - instead of the usual 5+ hours, it grew to over 10 - maybe they were the same class as this locomotive?
