Oh my gosh Uncle Les and his thumb, and I married a thumb puller. Mum and Les wanted me out of the conversation once so as he pulled his thumb he tapped his foot on the floor then pretended he’d dropped it, I then spent the rest of his visit frantically crawling around trying to find it. I was about 8 or 9 but you’d never get my granddaughter with that trick! Plus I wonder what I thought I was going to find, I think it was a nice neat detached thumb, in my mind.
I love that he’s remembered for this.
