Sheard's also had a shop/milkbar in Ross at one stage. Barry Sheard will know details.

Yes the one in Blaketown was my grandparents and Mum & Dad had one in Ross which was attached to the old town hall and had to be demolished when they decided on replacing the old hall with the one that is there now. I can remember going to the pictures, magic shows and even an opera in the old Ross hall.

Great family business. Very obliging people. I biked from Preston Rd nearly every day for some grocery or other. In those days you bought fresh every day. My treat was a bag of broken biscuits. Trevor was never miserly with biscuits or sweets. When I left school 1955 started work in CPO and Marriot Sheard was my boss in the Clerical Office. Excellent Supervisor

Mr Sheard made a movie of mum and dad's wedding... 1953 must have been a pioneer in the field of home movies. The milk bar side was open on Sunday for restricted grocery items. We used to get dad's tobacco and ice cream on way home from Sunday school.

Great memories picking up fresh bread on the way home from school.i picked at the crust by the time i got in doyle st bread looked like a mouse at ate it.mum not happy,i told her it was like that when i picked it up.lol she told mr sheard to have word to me.such a lovely man he said make sure the bread gets home in one piece.

Lived across the street and also delivered soft drinks there mr sheard was also good at making plastic things like dog poo and leaving them on parcels on the storeroom he would swipe them off and say no one will know don't say anything
