I'm sure that Policeman Head was used in the Blackball Centennial Parade as well and used for years in the Hays Christmas Parade in Christchurch

That is my brother Derek Moir and his 2 kids. At the time he had the motorcycle shop in Revel St in Hokitika. Derek and Margaret were well known on the Coast. They are retired and live in Akaroa.

I thought the parades all came into town from lower Greymouth and up along the Quay and down Mackay Street. The one I was on in the 1980's did.

This is Derek Moir and I built this. It was a picnic table with a 180cc Suzuki motor bike engine driving it. I am on the right looking at the pic is me and the guy on the left was my motor cycle apprentice at Moir Cycle Service Hokitika. It took two people to drive it, one steering and operating the clutch and the other on the throttle. A lot of fun and laughter.
