DescriptionI was three years old when the photo was taken. The dozer is a D69U. I belonged to my great uncle Stan Robinson from Murchison. He and my father, Lyn Robinson and his brother's Robinson Construction, did the section of the Paringa to Haast highway from the Windbag to just short of Bolder Creek. Great photograph for the time. We're good contractors Robinson Bros. Always got it done with inadequate machinery at times. Hard working people.

I remember in the 1970's that the Robinson brothers did quite a bit of road construction in Westland. Besides Lyn there was Erl, Rhett and Cedric (Peter). I have a couple of photos of them metalling a forestry road in 1977 using International trucks.

Glenn Johnston so very true. A big job of note was from Duffers creek to Lake Ianthe down the new alignment down the hill. From the foot of the hill next contract was done by Langridges to connect onto seal on the straight up to Evans creek . Yes there was a swag of them if all together.Tony Thompson
