By: William Gray23rd Apr 2023 3:01PMSEATOW 25 Arriving on the 12-2-98 from Thevenard via Westport where they had unloaded a cargo of Gypsum for Holcim Cement, it was the SEATOW 25,s first call at Greymouth, although the SEATOW 4 had been here before then towed by the SEATOW 22, both the 25 & 4 loaded coal for Portland sailing on the 13-298. The Seatow 25 to date is the largest tug built in NZ, at just under 500 Tonnes and 34 M,s in length. Later renamed KORANUI, by Seatow until sold to Overseas Owners her name changed to SEAWAYS 18, and in recent times appears to be trading around Africa, mainly around Lagos in Nigeria. In photo No 3 here the tanks on the stern contain extra fuel, mainly for the Tug, they also carried extra fuel for the SEATOW 22, when she was towing SEATOW 4.
