DescriptionJohn and Matilda Kennedy and family,
Many descendants still live on the Coast, our side of the family moved north to the Otorohanga area. John Kennedy was from Scotland and applied for a licence at Damtown but then moved to Kumara. John and Matilda were married in Hokitika. Matilda Mellon was born in Australia. Barbara Mary was born in Kumara, she married Charles Cowan but he died young from TB. Not sure at what point the family moved north but my grandmothers birth certificate says she was born in Colyton? Barabara Mary is the little girl standing next to Matilda. Not sure who the other siblings are.

Kay Bruce I have these photos as well. Definitely the same family with West Coast connections. I recently found all these on the Manawatu Heritage site but wondering how they got there. I am guessing that as some of the family settled there that these photos were gifted from a family member. Would love to know.
