DescriptionThis photo is from a collection held by John and Deirdre Henwood that came from John’s mum Mary Henwood (née Poschich). Mary’s mum was Alexis McPherson (of the Greymouth (Harbourmaster) McPhersons). Her father was John Anthony Poschich (of the Barrytown Poschichs). Alexis died when Mary was quite young. For some time Mary was looked after by her aunt Catherine (née Poschich) and uncle Arthur Hill. We don’t have any idea who the four servicemen are and we are posting the photo and this information to see if anyone can assist with identification. From what we can see the uniforms are the same except for the different hat and collar badges. The men in the middle have one set and the men on the outside another. The middle (younger?) pair could be wearing 2nd (South Canterbury) Battalion insignia. The other (outer) pair may be wearing the 13th (North Canterbury) Mounted Rifles insignia.
