DescriptionSomewhere around that time two Air Force mates and I were hunting up the mackley in a 1984 ford sierra station wagon. Blew one tire on the steep uphill after Bernard Menzies mine, blew another near the hut that used to be under the pylons above the Mackley river.

After driving the Sierra back down to Bernard’s place on a flat tire (whole wheel was munted when we got there) we took the first flat tire out to inangahua in the support car we had. The owners of the general store (I want to say Pam (?) and Taff replaced our flat tire with one off their own car for $20 and gave my mate and I a hot pie and a cup of tea while we there.

Steph JF The car was a 1984 Ford Sierra, that my mates and I purchased the day before from the old Morris Minor Garage in Dobson for $240 purely for the hunting expedition
