DescriptionHello, I live in Greymouth and am a direct descendant of Thomas Frederick Franks and Ellen Luff (parents were Arthur Frederick Luff and Lucy Ellen Butler - photo of the latter below) who both lived in Buller in the mid 1800s.

Thomas was a miner at Denniston - his parents were Maria Newton (buried in Orowaiti Cemetery) and Michael Franks. If anyone would like any information on them I have loads. Feel free to pm me.Map^[1]ContributorAmy Franks

Amy Franks Yes Frederick Luff was in the Buller very early on as far as European's go. I've read he was on the West Coast as early as 1855 which makes him one of very few Europeans here that early. I would be interested in learning more about Frederick and others may too so perhaps you could post more about him and other relations on this site?
