When I started work in that building in 1975 the only heating we had was gas heaters on the wall and it was a very cold building in winter

My Mother worked for the BNZ during the war years.
They carried a gun with them when they went to the other banks with money!!
They had no instructions how to use a gun, the men had all had practice at Blaketown Beach, all the men who worked at the BNZ went to the war except for one man.
My Mother always spoke about how scared the girls were carrying the gun and especially if they had to use it!!
