Wendy Gilmour yes it was very sad for the People that were lost on the plane when they hit the mountain at the time my dad worked as a engineer at air New Zealand and all the staff found it hard to believe

A couple of things seem fake: 1. The reflections on the lake don't seem to match the actual skyline. eg Mts Cook and Tasman are not apparent in the reflection. 2. For the lake to be so still the picture could only be taken in the early morning. The aircraft is heading roughly east into the rising the sun but the shadow of the engine on top of the cabin is clearly generated from a sun in the west. Just saying. Otherwise a fabulous image of an exceptional part of the country.

Russ Cross Yeah I have to concur this looks well off. Apart from it not really matching the lighting of the rest of the shot, there's no way a plane of that nature would be that low in that area.
