My Aunty & uncle, my dad’s sister & her husband. I have many memories of visiting them and my cousins Ann & Jill in Reefton. ….
I recall one visit in particular during the aftershocks of the Inangahua earthquake. I remember diving under my bed with my eyes tight shut…. The quake seemed to go on forever, the noise was horrendous. When I opened my eyes, I found the bed was on the other side of the room… the floor was littered with debris from the chimney and aunty’s figurines were smashed to pieces… I didn’t have a scratch on me
