Did she have a son called bill little?

I attended that weekend as a teenager.
Ross was full of people. She looks a bit little like Granny Little who lived in Beach St Hokitika, next to the Bergmans. She was Mrs Bergmans mother.

Alan-Robyn McKey
I think it’s in Morehouse Street looking towards the hills with Des Kelly’s dairy next to the old Ross hall. Remember that dairy well.

Mary Rochford
That’s my dads mum.

Lyn Murphy
My maternal grandmother was born at Ross in 1881..still have many relatives in Hokitika and West Coast

Jeff Sherman
I recall going down for the day as a kid, somewhere there is a film of the occasion made by the National Film unit ( ?? ) maybe tucked away somewhere. My grandfather, Frank Mitchell, was dressed up as a miner and with a group digging into a hillside . Would be very interesting to unearth this film .

Alan Mitchell
Jeff Sherman Yes I was there with dad they were shovelling black sand into a black sanding cradle to catch the fine beach gold. The black sand was brought up from the beach to demonstrate how it was done.

Jeff Sherman
Alan Mitchell do you remember seeing the short film of the Centennial celebration??

Alan Mitchell
Yes it was on at the Hokitika Regent Theatre a few months later. I think it was on a NZ Archives clip on a NZ news Real clip as it was known back then well before we got TV
