What a lovely Photo my mum and my Uncle Robbie Bergman went to the Kakapotihi School. They used to leave their shoes under the bridge on the way to school because a lot of the other kids didn’t wear shoes either. One day a flood came up and washed them downstream and they spent hours looking for them. It wouldn’t be worth going home if they didn’t.

My Mum and Uncle(s?) went to Kakapotahi School up to about 1947 they left their shoes under the bridge so they didn’t have to wear them.
