Fond memories of those race days, I think there were only two meets before they realized how dangerous it was racing around packs of timber.

Yep, a bunch of us were there that day. Gilly, sitting on the tailgate, RHS, of his Falcon, Ken McD on roof. James & Shurk's Nortons, my Beemer not far away. Great night in the Mahinipua pub afterward, camped across the road by the lake, partied 'til dawn. As Mary Hopkins sang, "Those were the days, my friends . . . "
