This is bitter sweet. Sadly these buildings engineering are no longer strong enough for seismic activity. I do hope the beautiful parts like the lead light can be recycled. Many building not up to nowadays standards in Canterbury collapsed in the devastating quakes. One building owner in Manchester Street had been told by the council to strengthen it. He argued. His building killed a young mother and her 6 week old baby. If facades could be saved that would retain the good Ol West Coast vibe
