DescriptionI did a story on Bus Man Harry Hahn but never had a photo of him in the last book. I was sent the picture of him from Hugh Scofield later. Harry had the Blackball bus run and the Karoro run. His niece Milly Dudley was not the first woman conductor but the only one in NZ at the time of the 2nd photo. The bus in the photo with Harry is a Brockway. Harry Alexander Gustav Hahn married a Low from Runanga, the Bus man out there at the time daughter Catherine. Milly was later Mrs Barrett from Candlelight. Harry took over the Blackball run in 1924.Map^[1]ContributorLyn N Moe

This is a very interesting story for me as My Grandmother was a Hahn before she married Charles Corbin. Milly Dudley was Mum's 2nd cousin and we used to visit them quite often at Candlelight. I have this photo of the Hahn Brothers. Top L to R. Bill, Harry. Middle row Johnny, Otto. Front Louis.

Ron Johnson Hi Ron, great to see that photo as I felt for Harry Hahn with his vehicles catching fire through no fault of his. Did you know of the family that lived on the Island on the Arnold River. Do you know one of Millys sons is still living he is 90 . I think William was killed in a bush accident a week after his mother died I would have to look it up.

Hi lyn, No I did not know the family that lived on the Arnold River. Yes I did know Tony was still living we called in to see him last year on our way home from the Senicland VCC Rally. We attend that every year and try to call in to see him when we can. I think it was a couple of years ago that Siddy passed away.

Ron Johnson In Amelia Dudleys paper death notice it says 5 sisters, your mother mrs corbin of Greymouth was mentioned but only 3 brothers Harry chch, Jack Moana and Otto Hokitika. I read of Williams death. Wonder if Louis was a son of one of above.
