Just about as wide as what it is today,get thru their with a Fuel tanker and trailer quite easy.It’s something you look foward to when you are driving up and down the South Island.Friday I took a load thru to Hoki,its just a breeze going down the Viaduct,3 1/2 decades ago we used to break the unit at the top of the Zig Zag and ferry it down in two pieces,the exciting part is driving over Denniston,down into the mine at Cascade creek,and getting out with an empty truck.
