Interesting, I also learned to read from these books in the 50’s, and they were great fun and easy to learn from. It makes me wonder why our children are still not learning from these books. There are so many children not learning to read properly in our schools with the changes that have been made to reading programs over the years.

Is this book series where I get the phrase “Look Janet, Look …. Come and see the …..”. Certainly remember the book series in the 60s.

We had John & Betty first grade readers in Victoria Australia. The story line had a pet cat (Fluff) & dog ( Scottie) in it plus the ending was when John & Betty went on holiday.
