Barry Beaton yes Barry Westland Transport of Hokitika. Don Eadie the poster was a director of the company. They had up to 20 in thier heyday. Google Westland Transport and go to albums or photos. Great company.

Kevin O'Regan I wasn't sure, but remember the company when I first moved to the coast, it was run by Norman Bishop, with a fleet of Mitsubishi and Fuso trucks, mainly on logging, but I believe they were general carriers, in earlier years.

Barry Beaton yeah they did everything early days. More Scammel than Fuso as wanted the low tare weight. As bridges got replaced and upgraded the hippos became the truck of choice. Very innovative company with some of the first rear steer junker trailers for over length bridge beams.

back in my day 1950 sic the logs were fiddled at the south end of the mill. did they turn the mill around to cater for road transport as it looks as if they are being delivered to the north east part of the mill. any comments please
