Is this the Diedrich that once owned the whole of the Kotatahi / Kowhitirangi Valley but had most of it confiscated as War reparations at the conclusion of World War 1. He married Amelia Dowell. Had two sons, William Amos and Henry (Harry) Gerrard. William had 3 daughters and Harry 3 sons and one daughter or is there confusion with the Spelling of Diedrich and Dietrich as has been posted or is the H.G Diedrich a brother of the Kokatahi William Frederick Diedrich? It would seem to me that there is a link with the Chirstian names as in our family tree there is a Garron Dowell and Henry Diedrich....Henry and Garrand.

Geoffrey King Heinrich/Henry Gerhard Diedrichs 1833-1919 married Elizabeth Ellen Graham 1851 - 1892 they had a son William Frederick Diedrichs 1885-1934 who married Amelia Dowell 1882 - 1944 they had 2 sons William Amos 1915-1994 and Henry Gerhard Diedrichs 1919 - 1983

Robert Sotheran we had a reunion in Hokitika in 1994 so I’m sure there are more around. All my photos are in storage but I don’t know if I have any more of him. I know I’ve definitely got the one you posted.

Diane Chesmar It was a great weekend. Got bit of a shock when I realised it was 30 years ago! The guy who organised the reunion was very knowledgeable but I can’t remember his name… keep thinking Chris Chapman???
