Hard to date the advertisement as such, but my parents were selling ice cream from my earliest years, and certainly from 1945.

After doing a little more investigating I haven't found any evidence this logo was in use in the 1940s and probably for the most part of the 1950s. The earliest use in advertising I can find is 1960, so it was updated to this version some time between 1954-1959 at the earliest - but I think this is less likely and the new campaign with the new logo probably debuted about 1960 although there is possibility the actual ice cream illustration could be older. The style and quality of the typography bears this out from my experience. This version of the logo stayed in use through the sixties, seventies, eighties and into at least the early 1990s.

I wish that someone would make that recipe again. Owen told me years ago that he had sold the recipe but didnt say who too! I have travelled the world and have never found an ice cream that came close to Snowflake, it was soooo good.

Before icecream freezers (which were not as cold as a modern freezer) the ice cream used to arrive in very heavily padded canvas bags. Not sure what was in the padding but it worked for a day or so.

My guess would be 60s. Early than that and they would have been on a telephone party line at Coal Creek I would have thought.
