DescriptionCan anybody identify the man on the left with the hat. He is congratulating Jim Archer of Nelson who finished second behind Dave Clark(Greymouth) in the NZ Championship race from Reefton - Greymouth in 1958. Jim Archer died last year and his family want to identify the man in the photo for their records.

Pretty, sure it is Jim,Dockery,(not sure sir name spelling) Him and his wife a 1 son, lived in the flat in Richmond street cobden,little dead end street, son went to Catholic school, would say son would be now 70ish,,they the family, ran the skating, rink in Blaketown,

Glenys Elizabeth Martin I think the spelling of his name was Dockerty and his son was Bryan or Brian and you are right they they did have the skating rink I used to go there with him sometimes, Brian would be about 77 or so now

The name is Docherty I'm sure that is the spelling. Remember the family from the days of skating.

The family told me that the man in the photo might have been a Greymouth publican but I can't remember him.
