The paddocks on Nelson Quay (between tip road and Nelson Quay), were once the sports grounds in Cobden. I suspect this photo may have been taken there.

Stephen Tvrdeic not sure about that Steve. The hills don't look right and there appears to be a quarry/scar in the hill on the left. Could it be taken on the Blaketown ground?

Rob Absalom If that was so then the picture is upside down back t front. In the background is the quarry for rock used south tip head

Geoffrey King which is by the Cobden Bridge. The only place the Twelve Apostille range falls away to the right, like in the photo, is when looking over the Cobden Bridge towards Runanga. And I'm not sure it does fall away as much as it appears in the photo even from that angle.
