DescriptionThe Lake Brunner Basketball Club, like many others, raised funds by any means possible. Dances and Cabarets were common and sometimes they went all out and ran Concerts. A Variety Concert was presented in 1950 at the Moana Hall and the following photo shows some of the local Lake Brunner Performers.
Those in the photo are: Back Row L-R. Peter or Barry? Laugesen, Unknown, Alan Hines, Frank Hines, Marie Brereton (later married name Gillman), Slim Gillman, Val Laugesen (later married name Hines), Peter or Barry? Laugesen, Mick Molloy.
Front Row L-R. Jack Priest, Estelle Laugesen (nee Dewer), Peg Brereton, Noeline Robinson, Pat Molloy (nee Heeney), Elsie (Dense?), Annette Dalzell (nee Hamilton), Joy Coleman (nee Laugesen), Carmen Klempel (nee Illing).

Sorry Geoff. My memory is not what it was. Doesn’t ring a bell at all. Could the unknown bloke be Jimmy Batchelor. Not sure but he was in that era. The Brereton’s musical abilities came from their Mum. I well remember Slim that night in the ballet item. Was the biggest laugh of the night.
