DescriptionWe called in to Gillespies Beach in 1995 and met the Shaw brothers. Very hospitable people, had lunch with them and went away with veges from their garden. Mark was the more outspoken of the two but I can't get close enough to confirm its him.

Cheryl Riley I can remember the day someone stole Mark's motor car and I was lucky enough to catch the offender. As a result I was Mark,s friend for life. great story tellers. Regards Graeme

Dick Watsonvery true. Mark told a story to me of backpacking an early compressor into site. As deposit was mined out He had a new claim opposite side of the river. Not wanting to dismantle compressor and pack across to other side he strung a very light cable across.. Mark story the morning of departure he said hal Queenstown turned out to watch him crash into the ravine. He straddled the compressor and with a home made brake rode it across. Marks story but certainly funny the way he told it..
