Notable is where the tide is and the extent of the vegetation back of Revell and Beach streets. Along comes a councillor that it would be a good idea to flatten vegetation. Trouble ever since.

Good old days no bull shit with councils in those days. Hokitika Borough Council,& Westland County Council, were stand alone in those days and neather of them got in the shit like we have today.

A Vulcan railcar at the station... Given they were purchased for the Christchurch-Greymouth-Hokitika Press service and given there are some which have been preserved I would love to see one of them run daily from Hokitika to connect with the Tranz Alpine at Greymouth and then return to Hokitika. An iconic piece of NZ rail history meeting the contemporary rail passenger service.
