DescriptionCan anybody guess what this date may have been.The photo is Hans Shearer driving a load of Timber on the Weheka(fox) Hills back when he drove for NZ Road services, based in Hari Hari.I can remember there used to be a giant mirror on this corner to see on coming traffic. Think NZR Road Services in Harihari had ex army Ford Thornton and GMC plus the odd Leyland Beaver trucks from 45 till the early fifties when Dad was a mechanic/driver based there.I was born in the staff cottage on the hill behind the workshop in 1947.

With limited knowledge, just based on the image, I'd guess mid-1950s to early 1960s?

I wouldn't think it would be the 60s, what you can see of the truck and gear looks older?

I have a photo here of my father giving directions as a Road Service Leyland Beaver is pulled out of a water table on Mt Hercules.It even has a crank handle starter.Thats when "Men were men"?

Kevin O'Regan I remember Ford Thorntons,Leyland Beavers,GMC's, and a Morris Commercial and Austin or two.
