If it was not for Barry Dallas Greymouth would have been Flooded Many Many times since then and if anybody thinks that Greymouth will NOT be flooded again some time in the future they very well mistaken so much so our leaders in the Council decided to put a $7 million library right next to the river WELL done Council

Time to dregs the river be better than taking all the Blaketown Beach away been doing that for years, I lived there as a boy can remember the Lagoons being filled in the water has to go somewhere.

On the first count you are totally wrong - review of Council records would show that Norman Turdvic and the Deputy Mayor(me) finally got it through Council
On the second count you are correct to be wary.
Aggregation in West Coast rivers is a forever problem unless the gravel is managed

The fact of the matter is that
Dr Dallas and Henry Clarke (who was a very clever engineer) didn't take tea otherwise the flood wall would have been built years earlier.
