Fabulous weekend now behind us for the Jackson Bay 150. Celebrating the first landing of European immigrants 19 January 1875. Names in stone at the cemetery, sea front burials now recognised and the 1875 settlers names proudly recorded on a panel, finally recognised after 150yrs.

My Grandmother was Carolina Conradina Eggeling. Her father Frederick Eggeling. Her sister Johanna Eggeling. Lived in Hokitika.
I am keen for more information on the Eggeling family tree if anyone can help.

What good news. Congratulations to everyone who organised and took part in the Jackson Bay reunion. It’s so good to see the memorial stone with the cemetery graves remembered. I’ve never forgotten my visit to that very sad place.
