I do but it was seriously dysfunctional by then (my hoon days )I would have placed more like where the toilet block is now I’m sure that the older soldiers amongst us will correct me

My hubby worked on that crusher for some time…He was employed by Graeme Williams in the very early 70’s

Yep Williams Crushing plant. They Had S line international semi tippers trucks and Acco 1800 shirty tip trucks.
Its crushing plant jaws broke down and I had the pleasure of re doing the white metal bearings in the jaw section while at the foundry.
Would have been early 80’s

I'm pretty sure Williams Stone crushing plant was further south along the beach past the primary school...towards sth beach

I think if you look over the side of the river there is the remains of a concrete pad which I believe held the pump to help run this operation. I think the whitebait spot is known as the pump rock

I remember one just south of the aerodrome runway about inline with the end of the road that goes to Top 10 Holiday Park.

I think if you look over the side of the river there is the remains of a concrete pad which I believe held the pump to help run this operation. I think the whitebait spot is known as the pump rock

The one down Blaketown should not be there very close to Blaketown school stone dust for each child and been taking away Blaketown Beach for years can hardly get onto the beach just a big hole were the beach was.

Jack Cain built the crusher down by the school. Jack Stanton had it after him .then Greame Williams.now West roads.

Anyone remember the one which used to be on the Cobden beach up near Minehans farm, used to go down there with mates, get inside and play all day. But NEVER damaged anything.

The stone crusher at the end of Chesterfield Strret was a large and high structure. It was located further towards the beach and opposite the camping ground entrance. It backed onto a large grass paddock which run to the rear of the old Council "Abattoir" and to the offal pipeline and drain that went from the slaughter house down to the sea outfall pipeline. This grass paddock was used by the Greymouth Archery Club and their small club house backed onto the beach lupin area to the West. In the 40 and 50's the Karoro and Blaketown Beaches were a big mound of stones back then. Sand was only found at the low tide zone.
