DescriptionHere are the front and back covers of a complimentary cook book from Arch Howat's butchery which was in Weld Street, Hokitika. It dates from 1961.
The much modified former butchery building is still in existence next to the public swimming pool in Hokitika. These days it is a Takeaway Shop.
Sue - Susan Hustwick you will have a wealth of knowledge about this butchery business. I remember your grandfather, father and Porky Johnson working at this shop. When I was a kid and going pick up the meat for Mum at Howats Butchery, Colin would always give me a slice of lunchen sausage to eat on the way home great days .
