Used to cross on the old swing bridge in the early 1960s from wallsend to madge glens shop.

Pauline Schafer Sure is Pauline. That’s over the first saddle at Rocky Island so probably over the wharf at Greymouth. Also that’s the original swing bridge without the steps up and over the railway. Not sure when that was built - around WW2 I think? Alan Upstanding will know. Uppy?

I fished along the far edge the other evening. Lots of old steel relics under foot causing wonder...must have wondered too hard as here is the answer lol. Would be great to get a before and after shot.
