DescriptionThis photo was taken in 1948 at Wainihinihi, Taipo Valley at Andrew Dillon's property. The photo shows Reg Stuart and Andrew Dillon, with his dog. Andrew was a 'Prospector' and Reg was from Kumara and was known as the "Kumara Cowboy". He sang and yodelled at shows and also featured on radio singing, 3YZ and 3ZR.

Wainihinihi Valley and Taipo Valley are different localities that are adjacent to each other. In the lower reaches they are only about 5km apart as the crow flies. So unless there is a "Wainihinihi" in the Taipo Valley that I have not heard of as well as next door this was taken at either Wainihinihi or Taipo. [I'm well aware of the former Dillon property in the Taipo and have been there many times]
