Material from the pioneering Catholic Churches of Stafford and Waimea were re-used in the construction. By 1971 it was no longer being used so was auctioned off. The Church was at 30 Stafford road, opposite where the VIP leather studio was. When I bought the section there were still bits of the church strewen about in 1974. There was also a school about 100m away closer to the rail way line.
