DescriptionDoes anyone have any information about the South Westland Bank Mobile camper that used to come to Haast to do banking? Would love to hear stories about it and working in it. Cheers.

Yes I certainly do! My Dad Colin Howat was the mobile bank officer! But I’ll tag some people who worked alongside him… not sure if their stories should cross the Whataroa river, but here goes! The late Jim Purcell, Whataroa farmer reckoned the mobile bank was the best thing for South Westland since the opening of the Haast pass
