DescriptionMine horses at Millerton on the West Coast.
It took a lot of men to manage and care for the horses. There’d be a handler for each horse to clip them on and off their rake of coal tubs/boxes/trucks. Then a farrier for keeping them shod. I guess the mine blacksmith would make the shoes. At Millerton, boys were responsible for cleaning the stables, which were underground.Map^[1]ContributorPeter Lusk
