DescriptionCrozier brothers Mark and Maurice from Kokiri in the Arnold Valley had logging contracts keeping a few mills going mainly in the Lake Brunner area. Another good contract they had was logging up the Ahaura river cutting native for Rauatapu and possibly another mill. They had a mobile spar or cherry picker behind the dozer for loading trucks. When they went on the gold with Jack Honey at German Gully New River they cut their old spar up and made one of the first rotary screens on the Coast. Using an old boiler from the Ruru Mill for a trommel, Mark drilled all the holes.They had a large dozer a HD 20 Allis Chalmers That had to be unloaded to cross the Arnold bridge at Aritika. and later had a few Cat D 7,s. Doing most of there logging for United and Fletchers with them. Another big job they had with a few other contractors was building the pad for the United Mill at Stillwater. Knew Mark and Meredith quite well back in the day and many a good party or evening out was enjoyed in their company…both really hard workers…salt of the earth people so to speak.

Great guys the pair of them. Mark was a night owl and don't know he did it some days. Good bushman and Dab hands with wire ropes and pretty ancient gear at timed.
