What a fantastic photo!!
Back in the 70's I lived in Corbyvale. I'm part of the Vos family. My father Tim opened up quite a long section of the road over 7 years. We spent so much time bush bashing and trying to find the old road.
Most of it was wiped out by the 1929 earthquake.
For anyone interested there's a documentary called We Live Ourselves on YouTube which shows Tim and Daniel clearing Spences Road.
Gosh, this brings back so many memories!!

Thanks for this. My late wife was Jill Johnson and was born and raised in Karamea. We were married in 1966 and later after our boys grew up we went there several times I loved travelling over the bluff
