Thanks Tony one of the clearest images of the working old site that I have seen in later life I worked for a contracting company that processed gravels from the river bed at Omoto and as modern building standards evolved it was found that the concrete aggregates had to much wood and coal content in them and would come to the surface when finished off now I can see why,everything from Wallsend also went in the river whereas Dobsons spoil was used for hard fill around the town
