First photo probably upper Buller Gorge, second Lower and I think the pull over point is still there - just denser vegetation. One of NZ's historic scenic roads and one of the current.

Hi Sue, Les. and I have been through there quite a bit, Les's mother used to travel by Cobb & co coach line through there a lot.
