The one in town, by the Regent Theatre, was moved in 1935. It was a Boer war memorial.

“The rotunda in the photo was shifted to Omoto racecourse, not sure of the year it went there. was used as the sand roll for the horses for many many years. Cushla Martini had it taken apart and shifted to Kumara racecouse and rebuilt aprox 10 years ago. I was on the committee of Greymouth Jockey Club when she shifted it.”

As you can see, it does not look like the one at Dixon Park:
