I spent a couple of hours exploring the site. Local fisherman's son rowed me across. Walked along the beach. Found the remains of the township of Weld. And sawmill site. Old loco was there and later ads I headed back along tramline route found a couple of log bogies. That was in 1987

Their bush winch was a rarity as by an old photo it seemed to be electric rather than steam powered. This could of course have been the closest bank to the mill where electricity was available.

George Gardner I recall the last boat to come to Brucebay I was 5years old and watched the timber being loaded on the barge from the big rock which is now gone too
